Zanzibar Ramadhan CSR
In keeping with the spirit of charity
during the Holy Month of Ramadhan, DTB Tanzania over the weekend paid a
visit to Madressa Zainab bint Muhammad Karim. Located in Unguja
Kaskazini B District in Mahonda Ward the centre mainly focuses on the
education and rehabilitation of orphans isolated by the society. The
boys-only centre boards a total of 35 children from the age of 3 years
old all the way to 15 years.
In his remarks the DTB Tanzania -
Zanzibar Branch Manager Mr. Mbaruku Mbaruku reassured the children at
the centre of DTB’s commitment to them, he said “DTB is committed to
your wellbeing and that is why we were here three months ago and are
here again today, your main focus should be your education.”
Mr.
Salum Juma Salum who is the centre’s caretaker thanked DTB Tanzania for
their continued support, he also urged DTB to be ambassadors to get
more partners to support the centre. Mr. Salum took members of the DTB
team for a tour round the centre where they got to meet the children and
look at the state of the facilities including a library, madrassa
classes and the boarding and dining area.
In his closing remarks
Mr. Sylvester Bahati, DTB’s Head of Marketing & Product Development
stated that DTB Tanzania encompasses four pillars in their social
responsibility. “Education, Health, Environment and Humanitarian Aid are
the four main areas of focus for us
